King James Version : On Line

Set Your Desired Width

It's important that you specify a width for your iframe.

This same width will be used to constrain the content generated for your site. The height of the iframe is variable based on the length of the bible verse being displayed, and for random or keyword selected verses will be different every time the iframe is loaded.

You can use your site's CSS to determine whether the iframe will expand to show the entire iframe or generate scroll bars when the content of the iframe exceeds the default iframe height in the user's web browser.

The book value has two possible uses.

If you specify a valid book name the iframe will only display verses found within your specified book. You can narrow this selection further by specifying a particular chapter and/or verse below.

You can use the keyword mode of our API by inserting the value "keyword" into the book field. This notifies the system that you intend to provide a keyword for verse selection. You can specify your keyword using the chapter value of your API request.

Select a Chapter or Keyword

The chapter value has two uses.

If you have specified a valid book of the King James Bible the chapter value can be set to specify a particular chapter within that book. The iframe will display a random verse from your selected Book and Chapter.

If you entered the value "keyword" for the book parameter the system checks the chapter value for a specific keyword. The iframe will always display a verse containing this keyword. If there are no results for your keyword a random verse will be displayed.

You can preview the selection of verses for a specific keyword using the search box located at the top of this page.

Select a Specific Verse
